I’d take caviar over a caveat any day, to be quite pacific
Childhood was good to me, I see now why parents laughed when I didn’t think I was funny
I remember neighbor Nadine across the street, very old and falling often
Mom said Nadine talked about herself as a little girl a lot and it seemed to be unfortunate that she did so. Nadine had no siblings
Good thing my mom didn't have to worry about that.
But, I get it Nadine. We all start perfect and quixotic. Maybe not always nice but I think still good.
One day Nadine fell in the garbage and my mom found her and helped her out and called the ambulance.
I drew a picture of everything she told me and when I brought it to mom she was so upset and dad laughed so hard.
I found it years later, yellow steno notebook morphed by windex. Two legs with high heels poking out of a garbage bin, “Nadine today”.
Nadine Today is a perfect title <3
