FEEDER ROOT

I shop for baby dolls for you
mom friends advise on plushness
plastic heads are good/ squish heads kill the vibe
a stroller is also good
anything a grown woman
hobbling home might resent
the baby mother covets
this whole instinctual system
catch the minnow in your mittens
the rumble between the highway and the picnic
the high pitch that makes the low pitch true?
lunging backwards, forwards, feet fill in the shift
kidney beans the weight of crazy crazy
crazy heartbreak
creased sole creased cheek
wet silk dried in a bundle with
basement folded in
there’s a movie about a woman
she’s always nude and tangled
and drenched in waterfall
but don’t say the word wild
its implication already kills the vibe
too much silver in the saloon script
try to lullaby backwards slow instead
sorrowful not scary
dissonant not disembodied
make it the real, realest sound
the realist baby
is she soft? yes
call your babies back
this one is pink her hat secure
she will live in my car and then in your floor bed
we will check her vitals and lose and find her
and kiss her and kiss each other
and our own warm
paws patting
down
